S/W Union

Anglo Stainless supplies stainless steel socket weld unions for joining two pipes of the same diameter with a connection that can be disconnected without cutting. Also known as SW unions or socket weld unions, these three-piece fittings locate a pipe in a machined socket at each end before welding, then join via a central nut that allows the pipework to be separated for maintenance. Our socket weld unions are held in stock in the UK for fast despatch and supplied with full material certification.

S/W Union

We stock socket weld unions in a 3000LB range, manufactured from forged 316/316L stainless steel for higher-pressure pipework and produced to ANSI B16.11 / BS3799. Sizes range from 1/4″ to 2″ (DN8–DN50). If you need a size not shown, larger sizes are available to order — contact our team to check availability.

A union joins two lengths of pipe in a straight run while allowing them to be disconnected without cutting the line — the three-piece design separates at a central nut, making it ideal where sections may need removing for maintenance or modification. Socket weld unions are widely specified in petrochemical, oil and gas, marine and process pipework where durable, vibration-resistant connections are essential.
